    Napoli new signing Grassi ruled out for three weeks with meniscus injury

    As previously reported, Napoli new signing Alberto Grassi picked up an injury during his very first training session with Napoli yesterday, shortly after that he had signed his new contract with the Partenopei.

    Grassi, 20, has undergone an arthroscopic surgery this morning for a meniscus tear and he’ll remain out of action for at least three weeks.

    The central midfielder has just joined Napoli from Atalanta for a fee in the region of € 10 million.

    Gonzalo Higuain has also picked up a less serious injury which wou
    ld probably not prevent him from playing Napoli’s next Serie A game against Empoli.

    The Argentinean star suffered a calf contusion during a mid-week friendly match against Positano, a team playing in Eccellenza, Italy’s 5th division, being precautionary replaced by Manolo Gabbiadini.
