Napoli star reveals the truth about failed Barcelona move

Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne has released an interview with Rai Sport while on duty with Italy national team.

The Italy star has praised his boss Maurizio Sarri and explained why he refused to sign for Barcelona in the summer.

Mino Raiola, in fact, had offered Insigne to Barcelona as a possible replacement of Neymar. The blaugrana would have offered up to € 100 million to sign him.

SARRI – “He studies everything, he knows everything about our opponents. His training sessions are heavy but we always train with a smile on our face. We have fun when we play. I am happy with [Italy’s new system] 3-4-3. I hope I can help the team more.”

DONNARUMMA – “He always jokes with me because I watch movies sometimes. He always plays with the play station and there is no communication so I have to watch movies”, Insigne says laughing.

BARCELONA – “I am proud to have stayed here at Napoli. Barcelona are the best team in the world. I’d love to have played with Messi and Suarez but I am happy in Naples and I’ve stayed to win trophies. When I was younger Torino and Inter refused to sign because I was too little. Good for me, I’ve now fulfilled my dream to play for Napoli.”
