News Britannia: Man City trigger Laporte release clause!

Man City announced the signing of midfield star Ilkay Gundogan yesterday. According to the Daily Mirror, the former Borussia Dortmund star will be the first of ten new faces arriving at the Etihad Stadium under incoming manager Pep Guardiola this summer.

The Catalan gaffer has shortlisted Paul Pogba and Toni Kroos as his priority in the upcoming transfer window and according to the English tabloid, Guardiola will have a £ 250 million budget to bring in new recruits.

Part of this sum will be invested in Athetic Bilbao ace Aymeric Laporte. The Guardian reports that Man City are ready to trigger the centre-back’s € 50 million release clause and that the Premier League club are now preparing a contract offer for the Basque star.
