After months of speculation, Atletico Madrid have announced that striker Antoine Griezmann has extended his contract in the Spanish capital until 2022. The French striker’s existing agreement was due to end in 2021 and this new deal will still contain the famous €100M release clause.
 

Club President Enrique Cerezo told Cadena Ser that; “Yes, it's one more year and the release clause will remain the same." Reports from Spain suggest that Griezmann will now become the clubs highest paid player although the patron has not confirmed this.
