Ogbonna on Euro 2016: 'Conte knows me!'
The West Ham United defender certainly hopes so, at least in light of his previous good work with West Ham United.
Let go by Juventus last season, the Cassino-born defender is hoping that he can slot in behind the Bianconeri's BBC (as he did when he was there) and do his part to help Italy bring back the European Championships after a 56-year-wait.
"My West Ham team is this season's surprise package" he told the Corriere dello Sport "and being called up to play in the Euros would be the best way to end a very positive season".
On being asked whether getting the chance to cancel out Christian Benteke again, Ogbonna responded by saying that "all I can say is that Conte knows me, he knows my skills and what he needs for the Italy team.
When speaking about his future, Ogbonna answered:
"I'm happy here, I have a four year contract, but anything can happen".
