    OPINION: Enough is enough, Milan!

Let's begin by reminding everyone that, as football lovers, we owe Silvio Berlusconi and, ultimately, Adriano Galliani a debt of gratitude. Berlusconi gave us one of the most beautiful teams we've ever seen, the Milan side that - led by Arrigo Sacchi - changed the history of the game, at least in Italy (but maybe not only in Italy).

The president's money was fundamental, Sacchi's ideas extremely important, but then again, the work of the front office - first and foremost Adriano Galliani - had an impact too.

    Now, however, enough is enough.

Enough with the pre-season bombast, stuff like "we have a team that can win the Scudetto" was frankly over the top this season, all but blasphemous last year, when Filippo Inzaghi was peppered with Bosman transfers.
Enough with the merry-go-round of coaches who are discredited after one loss, humiliated and changed as if they were shirts. From Allegri and Seedorf to Inzaghi... and Mihajlovic, very soon. The man on the bench is nothing but a ridiculous alibi for the club's numerous mistakes.

Enough with signing Bosmans to big deals, which then end up weighing the club down.

Enough with paying big, even huge sums for players without having a clear tactical framework in mind. Ever since Ariedo Braida was let go, the team doesn't have a football man in its front office. I'm not sure what Braida himself was blamed for exactly, it was problably another alibi which has since come unstuck.

Enough with the ridiculous Bee pantomime, unworthy of a club that has seven Champions League trophies sitting in its cabinet, and is the pride of Italian football.

Enough with Raiola, enough with favouring an agent whose mere appearance seems to justify doubling a salary, as is happening with Giacomo Bonaventura.  By the way Galliani, if Raiola really was your friend, why did he bring Paul Pogba to Turin, and not Milan?

And, finally, enough with this inability to plan the club's future. Because a great club, even one that is no longer the richest player on the market, needs to be able to find the right yougsters, spend what it has on those who are worth it, and grow gradually. Just look at Juve, who rose again from the ashes of relegation.

Enough of all this. This club needs to stop, take stock and change the whole culture, and it needs to do it with a strong dose of humility... and discretion. Milan need to do this for the fans, who don't deserve this mess.

And for themselves: those who make history can't be allowed to destroy it.
