Paulo Sousa out: Fiorentina fans want boss sacked

Paulo Sousa is going through hard times at Fiorentina and, according to various reports, the Portuguese tactician could be sacked if he faces a heavy defeat against Inter tomorrow night.

Fans have hit out at Sousa after that he had claimed Chelsea and Man Utd target Federico Bernardeschi is destined to play for bigger and more ambitious clubs than Fiorentina.

Today, fans have exposed two protest banners in front of Florence’s Franchi Stadium, asking Sousa to hand in his resignation.

“You say you are not a hypocrite, then you should resign you fu***** juventino” and “We dream and create pressure, you can only create depression”, the two banners read (pic credit gazzetta.it).

Fiorentina director of sport Pantaleo Corvino, however, has confirmed that the club is not considering replacing Sousa and that he’s on very good terms with the club’s presidency.

Ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A game against Inter, Sousa said that he has never gone through a similar situation, though he hopes they players won’t be affected by fans’ protests tomorrow.
