Perù fear Argentina's ‘contaminated water’, under-18 banned from Bombonera

Argentina take on Peru at the Bombonera stadium tonight in the decisive clash for the World Cup qualification. La Seleccion are currently out of top four with two games left to play. Trouble is only the first four teams in the table can qualify for the World Cup and Perù have just as much points in the table as Argentina (24) with the same goal difference as well.

The Argentinean football federation has banned under-18 fans from the stadium in order to have the most electric atmosphere ever during the game.

Peruvian sports papers have already begun their ‘war’ against Argentina. Todo Sport’s front page warns the Peruvian national team that AFA (the Argentina football federation), CONMEBOL and FIFA are plotting to eliminate Peru from the World Cup qualifiers given that each president of the three organizations will be attending the event.

The Peruvian paper also reports that their national team will bring their own bottles of water to drink during the game.

“There is a reason why the Argentinean federation has decided to play the game at the Bombonera”, the paper states.

“It’s impossible to win that game if you don’t pay attention to every detail. [Argentinean] offer contaminated water to opponents, they add substances that cause sleepiness.”
