President: ‘Atletico not interested in Higuain, Icardi and Bacca, but close to signing Diego Costa’
“Bacca is a very good striker, but we are not going to sign him. We know him, but he’s not part of our plans, he’s not going to join Atletico Madrid.”
“We are not going to sign any Serie A striker. We are not even interested in Icardi and Higuain, their names are not on our agenda.”
Icardi’s wife/anent Wanda Nara said last week that Simeone is interested in signing Icardi and Enrique Cerezo has denied that his club has any interest in signing the 23-year-old hit-man.
Atletico Madrid, however, are interested in bringing Diego Costa back to the Calderon.
“We like him very much, we are in talks with the player and we are working to bring him back to Madrid. We are close, but I can say nothing more.”
