PSG star Thiago Silva reveals his AC Milan role model

PSG star Thiago Silva has revealed his role model in an interview released with Canal Football Club and has insisted that he’s not going to retire in the near future.

“Many people think that a 32-year-old player is already too old, that’s not true. I am feeling like I’m in the best moment of my career.”

“The 2018 World Cup is still far but if I keep these standards, I’ll have many chances to take part to it with Brazil national team.”

“I want to play until I am 40, like Paolo Maldini who was my role model at AC Milan. I was lucky enough to play with him in the last six months in his career and I’ll try to take his same path until I can.”

Thiago Silva’s PSG contract runs until 2017, but the Ligue1 giants can automatically extend the player’s contract for one more season if they qualify for the Champions League. That should be quite an easy target for the French side given that PSG have won the last four successive Ligue1 titles.
