Real Madrid make history, Sergio Ramos enters legend

Real Madrid have made history winning their 11th Champions League against Atletico Madrid yesterday night.

The Merengues’ captain Sergio Ramos netted a goal in the final once again. The last time he had scored in a European competition was two years ago, in the final minute of the Lisbon final, still against city rivals Atletico.

That last-time equalized was the first step towards the decima, Real Madrid’s 10th Champions League triumph. Yesterday night he scored the opener, the 62nd goal in his career and his overall performance convinced UEFA to name him as the man of the match at the San Siro.

It was supposed to be Ronaldo’s night, it turn un being Ramos’. He guided the Merengues defensive line with great personality and correcting mistakes made by Pepe, Marcelo and Danilo.

Paolo Maldini, his role model, was watching the game from the stand of the stadium which used to host the success of his legendary AC Milan side.

Ramos may never be like Maldini, but he has made the final step towards the legend becoming himself a role model for the next defenders.
