Real Madrid patron has no intention of breaking the bank to sign Mbappe

According to reports in Don Balon, Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has no intention of paying the reported €135M to bring Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe to the Spanish capital this summer. The portal states that the patron, whilst being aware of his outstanding talent, still realises he has to prove himself in one of Europe’s top leagues despite leading his current club to their first French league title for 17 years last season.

The Champions League winners have been heavily linked with a move for the 18-year-old who has set the football world alight over the past 12 months with some breath-taking displays. Perez however, is understood to have told coach Zinedine Zidane that the player still has to earn the right to play at one of the world’s biggest clubs and is hoping he can lower the price for one of this summer’s hottest names on the transfer market.
