Real Madrid: Arsenal on red-alert as Perez gets ready to sacrifice Benzema for Mbappe

Real Madrid patron Florentino Perez is ready to off-load French international striker Karim Benzema to bring young striking sensation Kylian Mbappe. Reports from Spain state that Perez feels the time is right to swap one Frenchman for another and take the most exciting striking talent in European football.

Benzema, who is now 29, joined the Spanish giants back in 2009 for £31M but it’s understood that Perez feels he has got the best out of the player and that it’s time to bring in fresh blood. It has been reported all summer that one of Real’s high profile frontmen, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Benzema would depart and according to Diario Gol, it’s the latter who is heading for the exit.

The portal states that Real would be looking for a transfer fee of around £62M for the Frenchman and that Arsenal are one of the clubs showing interest. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of his fellow countryman but having already brought in Alexandre Lacazette, it’s unlikely he would be prepared to pay such a huge amount for another striker.

Another scenario is that Benzema could head to The Emirates as part of a swap deal for Chilean play-maker Alexis Sanchez.
