Real Madrid ready to pay De Gea clause

According to Spanish journal Marca, Real Madrid want to re-open the track to bring Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea to the Spanish capital.

President Florentino Perez is reportedly ready to pay the €50 million clause inserted into the Spanish number one’s new deal at Old Trafford to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu. The problem for Los Blancos however, is that the club are currently serving a transfer embargo and will not be able to commence business until January 2018.

The 26-year-old shot-stopper, who was born in the city and grew up in the youth team of rivals Atletico, has been the subject of a tug-of-war between Real and the Red Devils over the past two seasons. In the summer of 2015, he looked set to be heading back to home but then United boss Louis van Gaal, refused to sanction a move. Now it seems that despite the embargo, Perez is continuing to plan for the future and De Gea is one of his priority targets.
