Real Madrid rejected Arsenal star over character issues

Real Madrid were given the chance to sign Arsenal wantaway Alexis Sanchez, according to the reports.

OK Diario (via talksport) confirm that the Merengues were offered the Chilean international, who wants to play Champions League football, this summer.

The 29-year-old has been linked to Bayern Munich, PSG and Manchester City this summer.

The former Barcelona man joined Arsenal for € 42.5 million three seasons ago, and is coming off a 24-goal Premier League campaign.

Despite this performance, the Chilean isn’t popular at Arsenal, having angered Coach Arsene Wenger as the Gunners were kicked out of the Champions League 10-2 on aggregate by Bayern Munich.

Agent Fernando Felicevic contacted the Merengues, but was told that they weren’t willing to replace anyone from the BBC, or indeed sell any of their magic trio.

They also claimed that Zinedine Zidane’s side didn’t want any characters, with Alexis’ benching against Bayern seen as a result of poor effort in training. Beyond that, the Chilean is said to have been given a talking-to by some of his team-mates.
