Real Madrid star Morata inches closer to Chelsea, wants €80m move

Alvaro Morata is inching closer and closer to Chelsea, according to Sky.

The Milan target was close to Manchester United until a few days ago, when the Red Devils acquired Romelu Lukaku for £75 million in his stead.

Morata, who only made 14 starts in La Liga action last season only to score 15 goals, wants to leave, and has told the Madrid side as much.

With Antonio Conte signing a new deal with the Blues today (extending his stay by two years), it emerges that negotiations over Morata are at an “advanced” stage, according to Sky.

While Real Madrid are still asking for 90 million, the Blues don’t want to spend more than 80m.

Morata was actually requested by Conte to join Juventus back in 2014, only for the Italian Coach to leave Juventus over (ironically) transfer disputes, and join the national team instead.

The Blues are looking for a striker to replace Diego Costa, who was dumped via Whatsapp at the end of last season.

The Merengues would use the proceeds to nab Kylian M’Bappe.
