Alessandro Nesta’s coaching career appears to on the rise. According to a report from the United States, where he is currently the manager of 2nd division Miami FC of the NASL, the Milan legend is set to join MLS next season.

After leaving the San Siro in 2012, the defender made 31 appearances for the Montreal Impact from 2012-2013. Now, according to Glenn Crooks, he’s set to become the manager of the struggling side next year.

At Miami FC, Nesta accomplished incredible goals in his first managing tenure. This year, his team sits at the top of the NASL table, 16 points clear of their closest competitor. Just as impressive, Miami made it to the semifinals of the US Open Cup, beating two MLS sides along the way.

If the Montreal Impact sound familiar, it’s likely because its owner, Joey Saputo, is also the owner of Bologna in Serie A. He has imported many big European names over the years. From Nesta, Drogba, Blerim Dzemaili, Marco Donadel, and others. Currently, they are set to miss out on the playoffs after a disappointing campaign.
