Revealed: reasons of tense relationship between Conte and Chelsea
The Italian has imposed himself as one of the best managers in the world and Chelsea executives did everything they could to persuade him to stay for one more year in England rejecting the chance to join Inter.
The nerazzurri had offered him € 15 million a year, but the former Juve boss opted to stay for one more year at Chelsea.
According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the relationship between Conte and his club is not as solid as it used to be during the last campaign.
The club’s executives have not taken Conte’s message to Diego Costa very well. The Italian informed his striker that he’s not part of his plans for the future and he did that through a text message. While on International duty, Costa revealed Conte’s text message and Chelsea executive believe the Italian made a huge mistake as the price-tag of the Spaniard has dramatically lowered.
Conte is also not happy with how Chelsea are dealing with transfers. He expected the Blues to have a solid start to the transfer campaign but no signings were announced yet, whilst the other Premier League giants have already begun their transfer activity.
Conte and Chelsea do not think to part way at the moment but, as of today, their relationship is not as good as it used to be.
