Pablo Daniel Osvaldo will be sidelined for two months and Roma are already looking for a backup in the transfer market.

The Giallorossi are currently following several players who could move to the Olimpico for a relatively small fee.

Director Walter Sabatini is focusing on Fabio Quagliarella from Juventus, Maxi Lopez from Catania and Nilmar from Villarreal.

Today, Sabatini will meet up with Quagliarella’s agent, Beppe Bozzo, and could then talk to Juventus about the player. The relationship between the two clubs is good at the moment as confirmed by Marco Borriello’s move to Turin.

However, agent Bozzo claimed: “Fabio wants to stay at Juventus and he is not considering any other option”.

Maxi Lopez would be a convenient alternative for the short term also considering that Catania are desperate to offload the Argentine forward. The Giallorossi could seal the deal with a €500k loan until June and an option to buy at €7M.

Regarding Nilmar, Roma have been following him since last summer but all depends on Villarreal which are currently fighting against relegation in La Liga and could prevent the Brazilian striker from leaving.
