Roma, Spalletti: 'The pitch did not help us today...'

Luciano Spalletti spoke to the press after today's 0-0 draw versus Empoli, here is what he said : " Skorupski is a solid keeper, he made many key saves against us. The way Empoli played as well as the pitch both really did not help us but we still had some chances. When you don't score then it makes things harder as we nearly conceded towards the end of the game. Paredes did well and he has a lot of quality. We always knew he had the quality, he needed to gain some confidence which he has now.

Emerson and Rudiger ? I wanted to play them in that position as I wanted to hold on to the ball and we did a good job at that. Emerson also had a few dangerous shots and served a great assist to Edin Dzeko but we did not score in the end. Salah? Well sometimes there is contact sometimes there isn't any. I think the referee had a perfect game tonight and I don't think it was a penalty kick".
