Roma work towards Strootman & De Rossi renewals

Roma are working towards a new agreement with Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman. The Corriere dello Sport claims this morning that the giallorossi are preparing an extension to his current deal, which expires in 2018, of two/three years. The journal states that the player’s representatives have already met club officials Baldissoni and Massara with the 26-year-old being offered a salary of around €2.5 million net per season. This may also be linked to the amount of appearances the Dutch international makes for the capital club over the coming seasons. Strootman himself has always stated that he wants to repay the faith shown in him by the club during his lengthy lay-off due to cruciate knee ligament surgery which will be bad news for Premier League side Everton, who are believed to have made tentative enquiries as to his availability.

    DE ROSSI:
Then there is the situation with Daniele De Rossi. The 33-year-old is edging closer to a new deal in the Eternal City when his existing contract expires in the summer. Despite attention from elsewhere, namely Juventus and the MLS, the Italian international is believed to be in favour of prolonging his stay at his hometown club. However, negotiations on his current salary of €6.5 million are due to take place with the player himself stating that; “There will be time to talk about it”.
