Who did Leonardo recently say this about? No, not Paulo Dybala or Mauro Icardi… but Alessandro Florenzi.
PSG’s former director of sport was hardly the only person to see potential in Florenzi, least of all Roma themselves, who have always offered the 25-year-old a better deal at the right time.
When he scored his first goal for the club at the San Siro, Florenzi was earning €30k a year. Now, he’s on €1.7 million, but that will soon increase.
By the start of next summer he’ll be engaged in negotiations with the Lupa to extend his current deal past 2019, and improve it.
Florenzi is very appreciated, however, and some clubs will come sniffing around. One of them could well be Chelsea, whose Coach, Antonio Conte, love Florenzi the footballer, and pulled out all the stops to bring him to Turin.
