Sabatini: ‘Real Madrid star not joining Inter, Napoli will win Serie A’

Inter technical director Walter Sabatini has released an interview with Il Corriere dello Sport to analyze Inter’s summer transfer campaign.

The nerazzurri are being linked with signing Real Madrid star Toni Kroos but Sabatini has ruled out a possible move of the German to the San Siro.

“It’s simply not true, there is no chance for Inter to sign Kroos. Noth Italy based newspapers want it but there is no chance. No Serie A clubs can sign top-class stars, nobody has this financial strength. We have to work on another level, we have to work on a second level of players in order to sign promising prospects before anyone else. If a player becomes a top-class star he won’t come to Italy anymore. That’s how it is.”

As for the next Serie A title, Sabatini predicted: “Napoli are going to win it.”

Sabatini did also talk about Bonucci’s AC Milan move: “Frankly it was very surprising. I’ve always thought Bonucci was an iconic Juve player, but that’s modern football. Bonucci’s decision is due to his disease at Juventus, this can be the only explaination.”
