Sampdoria Director condems Montella: 'the results aren't there!'
Sampdoria's Director of Sport has apologized to fans for Sampdoria's "shameful" 3-0 Derby loss to Genoa, and blasted manager Vincenzo Montella.
"The fans' protest is perfectly fair" Carlo Osti told Premium Sport after the match, "The club apologizes to the fans for the shameful performance, a game we didn't even turn up for".
"The Coach said in January that the team had changed, but the results are not there.
"Is Montella guilty? We'll evalute, Montella himself has said that we need to talk about things to see if we can go forward together".
Ouch!
Sampdoria currently sit in 15th place, and have lost three of their last five league games.
Montella's predecessor, Walter Zenga, was sacked after 12 games, in which he'd earned 16 points (1.33 points a game). L'Aeroplanino, on the other hand, has barely grafted 24... in 25 games (0.96 ppg).
