Sassuolo ‘not selling Inter target Berardi’ says GM

Sassuolo’s GM Giovanni Carnevali talked to media ahead of today’s Serie A clash against AC Milan. The neroverdi general manager was asked whether Sassuolo will be looking to sell their main star Domenico Berardi, who, however, is still out of action due to a knee injury he picked up more than a month ago.

“We are not going to sell Berardi neither to Inter, nor to any other club.”

“We are on very good terms with the nerazzurri but we want to keep our best players.”

Berardi, 22, has seven goals in six appearances in all competitions this term and Juventus had a first-option to sign the most exciting Italian prospect last summer.

The player, however rejected a move to Juventus in the last transfer window as he feared he wouldn’t have snatched enough game time at the J Stadium.

According to transfermarkt, Berardi’s market value is around € 20 million, but Sassuolo might be open to sell him for € 40 million at least.
