Scouting Report: Vojtech Vorel - the dynamic young Czech who is turning heads in Italy

In-demand Sparta Prague youngster Vojtech Vorel is interesting clubs across Europe, with a host of German clubs after him, but a cluster of Italian clubs are also said to be following his progress.

The clubs in question happen to be Bundesliga 2 duo Erzgebirge Aue and Augsburg, whose offers for Vorel have apparently been put on hold. Not just them either; Dynamo Dresden have also been pegged back in their attempts to acquire the services of the Czech Republic U21 goalkeeper.

Currently 21, Vorel failed to break into the Sparta first team but has been raising eyebrows following a loan spell at Czech second division outfit Vlasim, where he made 11 appearances in the league before returning to his club back in December. While this was Vorel’s second loan stint at Vlasim, the custodian only recently penned a new deal with his parent club.

The presence of a host of experienced goalkeepers in the first team has made it tough for Vorel to play regular football for his childhood club and he feels the need to move to Italy in the bid to play more often. There has been some interest from the peninsula too and the player hopes this interest can be taken further this summer. He has previously rejected approaches from fellow Czech clubs as well as his dream is to play in Serie A.

He has previously made three appearances for the Czech Under 21s outfit, making hi debut back in September 2015 against Malta during the UEFA Under 21s Euro qualifiers. Despite this he has been omitted from the squad that is currently taking part in the European Championships in Poland.
