Serie A managers facing uncertain future: who’s staying and who’s leaving?

There are currently 19 clubs which will surely take part to the 2016-17 Serie A campaign. Only a few managers, however, will keep their jobs at the end of the current season and CM.com has highlighted those who could see their contracts cut short after the last week-end’s Serie A action.

Massimiliano Allegri, Maurizio Sarri and Luciano Spalletti are not in danger to lose their jobs at the end of the season as they’ll be in charge of Juve, Napoli and AS Roma respectively also at the beginning of the next campaign.

Sassuolo’s Eusebio Di Francesco and Fiorentina’s Paulo Sousa are also going to keep their current jobs, whilst both Roberto Mancini and Roberto Donadoni will almost surely continue their reigns at Inter and Bologna, despite rumours linking both of them to the Italy national team job.

All other managers could be sacked or looking to step up their careers after next Sunday. AC Milan are the only big club which are still not sure about their next manager. Cristian Brocchi’s confirmation seems highly unlikely and, as we’ve previously reported, Sevilla FC’s Unay Emery could become the rossoneri’s new boss, should the Chinese consortium complete a majority stake acquisition in the club.

With Vincenzo Montella in pole position to be appointed as Italy’s national team coach after EURO 2016 Maran, Pioli, Iachini or Giampaolo could replace the Aeroplanino on the Sampdoria’s bench. At the same time, Gasperini could move to newly-promoted Cagliari with grifone legend Ivan Juric tipped as the most probable replacement of ‘Gasp’ at the Marassi.

Former Italy and Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli could end up at Atalanta or Lazio, though the biancocelesti president Claudio Lotito met Jorge Sampaoli yesterday to offer him the Aquile’s job.
