Serie A starlet reveals why he snubbed Juventus for Inter

Serie A starlet Gianluca Caprari signed for Inter last summer, but the nerazzurri decided to send him on loan at Pescara to gain some Serie A experience. The promising Italian striker played for Pescara last year as well managing 13 goals and 14 assists in 43 Serie B games last season.

Caprari, 23, was one of the most wanted Italian youngsters in the summer window and the Meazza outfit managed to seal his transfer, beating the competition of their hatred rivals Juventus.

My move to Juventus was almost a done deal”, Caprari has told Calcio 2000.

“In the end, however, the two clubs failed to find a final agreement with Inter that entered the race. They had no hesitations and when I knew they wanted me, I signed for them without thinking twice. I’ve always liked big challenges.”

“Now, however, I only want to play and do well for Pescara, I’ve grown up in this club, Inter will only come after.”
Caprari, a product of AS Roma academy, has one goal and one assist in 13 Serie A games so far this season.
