Sevilla, Sampaoli want Gary Medel, but Inter think he’s untouchable

Inter’s Matchday 1 defeat to Chievo wasn’t just bad in terms of the result, but from the limp performance given by the Nerazzurri, in every area of the pitch.

One of the players to come under fire was Gary Medel, who really didn’t show any of the bite one would normally associate with him.

Reports from Spain and South America now have the Chilean potentially on the chopping block, seeing as his former Coach at international level, Jorge Sampaoli, wants him at Sevilla. The Argentine - who gets on very well with Medel - has already asked after him when in talks with Lazio, and would be bringing the Pitbull back to his former club.

Problem is, beyond a truly irresistible offer, Inter simply won’t budge. Coach Frank De Boer believes that the Chilean gives balance to his side, and is, if anything, looking for more box-to-box players, round holes into which he is struggling to fit both Geoffrey Kondogbia and Gary Medel. This would explain their pursuit of Joao Mario of Sporting Lisbon.

So far, however, no offers have reached the Nerazzurri, but the coming hours could bring further developments.
