Spurs in for Man City forward to speed up Walker move

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to hijack Leicester City target and Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho in order to get the ball rolling on Kyle Walker’s switch to the Etihad Stadium, according to The Sun.

The Foxes placed a £20m bid for the Nigerian striker on Monday but now Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is attempting to hijack the move, with clubs Borussia Dortmund and Monaco also interested parties.

The North London side are holding firm on their £50m price tag of Kyle Walker and believe that Man City have enough in the budget to fork out on their right-back target – resulting in a stalemate between the two Champions League-qualifying teams.
20-year-old Iheanacho, is it thought, could be used as a bargaining chip, with the 20-year-old going to last season’s runners-up in a player-plus-cash deal.

The forward netted 14 goals for the Manchester side two season ago, but with the emergence of Brazilian Gabriel Jesus, he has become lower on the pecking order, managing just eight in nine starts last season.
