Spurs interested in €25m Real Madrid midfielder
The former Inter player has been linked to a move to the Premier League by a number of English papers (via Fichajes).
Spurs really appreciate the 23-year-old Croatian international, who has struggled to impose himself with the Galacticos, only making 27 starts in La Liga play over two seasons.
The young midfielder cost the Galacticos €35 million in 2015, but Mauricio Pochettino’s team sees him as a good defensive force for Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen. Poch’s plan is to give the latter two a freer, more attacking role, and Kovacic is seen as the bite in the trio.
That said, Zinedine Zidane wants to keep him around, as he sees him as being key to the club’s future. Tottenham want to persuade Kovacic by offering him more playing time.
The idea is that Eric Dier could be shifted to another club this summer, leaving a berth free for the 23-year-old Kovacic.
