Spurs & Man Utd in the hunt as Koeman decides to off-load his England ace

The future of Everton midfielder Ross Barkley looks certain to be away from Goodison Park. As he enters the final 12 months of his current contract at the club, the 23-year-old is reluctant to commit to a new deal having already rejected a new £100,00-a-week offer, leaving boss Ronald Koeman with little else than to put him on the transfer market. The Dutch tactician has reportedly already identified two possible replacements in Ajax’s Davy Klaassen and Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Barkley on the other hand, looks to have two potential suitors with The Mirror stating that both Manchester United and Spurs are showing interest in signing the England international. The Red Devils have made a previous enquiry but the journal states they are yet to follow this up. Spurs have been linked with the player for some time with boss Mauricio Pochettino possibly looking to add yet another top-quality England player to his roster.

It remains unclear however, just how much Everton are going to ask for their hometown boy who was one of the club’s stand-out performers last season.
