'Stop talking about referees' - Ulivieri

Renzo Ulivieri, a former Italian football manager, now President of the Assoallenatori (Association of Italian Coaches) spoke to media after he had attended a meeting between Serie A managers and teams’ captains today in Rome.

“We have a gentleman agreement: No one will talk about referees’ decisions anymore at the end of games.”

“We won’t reply when we’ll be asked questions concerning penalty kicks or off-side situations.”

“The thing that we can say whatever we think is wrong with referee’s decisions, while they have no right to reply is just unfair.”

“From now on, no one will talk about referees’ anymore.”

Ulivieri, spoke after that in the last few weeks there had been quite a lot of complaints from Serie A managers towards some Italian referees.

Inter boss Roberto Mancini, in particular, looked quite unhappy as he criticized them after the Milan’s derby as well as after yesterday’s clash against last-place Verona.
