The seven players that have yet to make season debut for AC Milan

Although AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella is being criticized for rotating his players a bit too much, especially after the rossoneri’s 3-0 defeat at hands of Genoa on Tuesday night, the aeroplanino has yet to play seven players so far this season.

Two of them are AC Milan’s second and third choice goalkeeper, some of the others are injured or are just not good enough at Montella’s eyes to deserve to play for AC Milan senior squad.

Tommaso Plizzari and Gabriel, for example could only play if Gianluigi Donnarumma is suspended or picks up an injury, otherwise, they’ll remain on the bench, watching the 17-year-old goalkeeper impressing in his second season as AC Milan’s senior goalkeeper.

Leonel Vangioni and Mario Pasalic arrived at the club in the summer, but they had yet to recover from their injuries and they have yet to play one single minute this term.

Cristian Zapata and Mati Fernandez are also recovering from injuries. The Chilean midfielder was bought in the deadline day of the summer transfer window and is one of Montella’s favourite midfielders. Rodrigo Ely has not proved to be good enough to replace either Gabriel Paletta or Alessio Romagnoli.
