Three EPL teams compete for German Olympic star

West Ham, Everton and Swansea are set to duke it out in February for RB Leipzig striker Davie Selke.

The Sun report that the German Under-23 international is set to leave Leipzig, who are currently second in the Bundesliga table, level on points with Bayern Munich.

The 21-year-old has only played one league game as a starter this season, Coach Ralph Hasenhuttl’s switch to a different attacking system leaving the youngster surplus to demands.

He caught the eye back in 2015 when he chose to ditch Werder Bremen for RB, who were in the second division at the time. His €8m fee is still the most expensive in 2.Bundesliga history.

Selke, 21, played five games in this year’s Olympics, smashing in two goals as Germany made it all the way to the final, only to lose to Brazil.

West Ham are in need of firepower up front, with summer signing Simone Zaza heading for the exit. Similarly, Swansea need a reliable goalscorer, having so far failed to find one this season.
