Reports out of Italy today via La Gazzetta dello Sport have Fiorentina just one step from Giovanni Simeone, son of legendary Argentine midfielder and current Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone. According to reports, the Viola have found an agreement with Genoa on the basis of 20 million EUR plus 5 more in bonuses. Tomorrow there will be the decisive meeting between the player's agent and Fiorentina’s Corvino.

Simeone has been linked with a transfer away from Genoa since his prolific form for Genoa this past season. The 21 Argentine scored 12 goals and added 1 assist in 35 matches for the Ligurian club, and seemed destined for a move to a club with more distinction. The approach from Florence could hint at an exit for some of their other valued players, with cash raised from a Borja Valero or Bernardeschi exit to fund the move for Simeone.
