Ventura ‘grateful’ to four Italy stars

Italy boss Giampiero Ventura has talked to Sky Sport on the eve of the World Cup qualifier against Albania. “When I started at Italy I knew this team needed a generational change but I knew I couldn’t do without Buffon, Bonucci, Chiellini and De Rossi. They are making history and they confirmed me they are real men, I can only be grateful to them.”

“We are not depressed after the Macedonia draw. Italy must qualify for the World Cup but we need to put down a different performance against Albania. This group of players is unique, we are missing some important pieces, we have lot of young players. I am sure we’ll see a different Italy side.”

Ventura also talked in press conference, in front of assembled media: “I want to see something different, I want to see improvements. We have room for improvement and I am happy of what I’ve seen in these 14/15 months. It will be a historic game for Albania we must win to have more chances to be guaranteed a top seed for the playoffs.”
