Watch: Barcelona play behind closed doors as fans slam board

Barcelona won their La Liga clash against Las Palmas for 3-0 today but the blaugrana played behind closed doors after clashes between residents and police over Catalonia's referendum.

The board of Barcelona did not want to play but La Liga would have handed Barcelona a six point penalty if they had failed to play against Las Palmas today.

The blaugrana President Josep Maria Bartomeu explained Radio Catalunya why the board eventually decided to play behind closed doors. “We would have lost six points and we couldn’t reschedule the game. We played the game behind closed doors to show our disapproval.”

Barcelona fans, however, would have preferred Barcelona not to play the game at all and have slammed the board and the president on social media with the hashtag ‘Bartomeu Dimision’.
