Why Atletico won't sell €75m Man United, PSG target

PSG have run into a snag in their attempts to sign a new goalkeeper.

The latest reports from Foot Mercato in France confirm that Atletico Madrid star Jan Oblak won’t be going anywhere, and it has nothing to do with former suitors Manchester United.

The reason? Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban, which was recently upheld and which will force the Colchoneros to stay away from the window until January, thus depriving them of any summer reinforcements.

Oblak has quickly morphed into one of the continent’s best shotstoppers, and was being touted to join the Old Trafford side if David De Gea were to leave.

PSG, for their part, want someone to replace Kevin Trapp, whose struggles against Barcelona were all-too-typical of his unconvincing campaign.

PSG recently made a hefty 75m offer for Oblak, but Atletico have made it clear that they won’t accept anything short of the 100m release clause they have on the shotstopper.
