Witsel rejected Everton switch, now we are in talks with Juve says Lucescu
Zenit’s St. Petersburg boss Mircea Lucescu has admitted that the Old Lady and the Russians are in transfer talks for the Belmgium International who could sign Juventus in the next few hours.
“Everton have made a very interesting offer for Witsel, but he’s declined it”, Lucescu told Russian media
“We have two days to find an agreement with Juventus.”
Witsel’s Zenit contract expires in June 2017 and Zenit’s asking price is € 30 million. Given the player’s imminent end of contract, however, Juventus are not open to offer more than € 15 million.
If Zenit do not accept Juventus’ conditions, the Old Lady would try to sign the former Benfica man as a free agent making a contract offer next January.
