Zidane calls Ronaldo to try to convince him to stay at Real Madrid as Man Utd consider 131million bid

After last week’s stunning news that Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was planning on quitting Real Madrid, comes reports today that Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane has called the player in person to try to convince him to remain in the Spanish capital.

The 32-year-old is believed to be upset about the lack of support from the club over the charges made against him for tax evasion; the four-time Balon d’Or winner allegedly owes £13M in unpaid taxes but reports from Spain suggest that after eight years with the club, Ronaldo now wants out and is using this as the perfect vehicle to orchestrate a move away.

Now El Confidencial (via The Sun) claim that Real contacted all the Spanish news outlets and told them not to print photographs of Ronaldo wearing a club shirt in relation to the story and the player himself has been omitted from the video to launch the club’s new strip.

Zidane intends to get to the bottom of the problem fearing that his superstar may be looking for a shock return to Manchester United. Reports over the weekend claim that he could be available for £131M which is a lot less than the original quotes of £175M that were reported by Marca.
