AC Milan are set to hand tough competition to Premier League side Everton in the race to sign Dynamo Kiev defender Domagoj Vida, reports say.

Vida, currently 28, is a central defender who can also play right-back. This season, he has made 16 appearances in all competitions for Dynamo Kiev, scoring twice on the way. The Croatian joined Dynamo Kiev back in 2013 from Dinamo Zagreb and has made 136 appearances in all competitions since then.

The defender has already been on Everton’s radar, but is believed that Serie A giants AC Milan too have joined the race to sign the Croatian. Vida’s current deal at the club from the Ukrainian capital expires at the end of December and he is likely to leave the club next year.

A very versatile player, Vida can play anywhere across the backline and has already represented his national team 51 times, having already played in two Euros and one World Cup.
