Another heavy hit for AC Milan. Giacomo Bonaventura's season can be considered over. As reported by Sky Sports, the player will be operated in the United States for the injury to the knee cartilage and will be out of action for about 7-8 months. The decision came yesterday after agent Mino Raiola met the Milan management.

It was decided that Bonaventura will be operated in Pittsburgh by professor Freddie Fu, who operated Zlatan Ibrahimovic last year. Milan wanted to perform it in Belgium by Dr. Martens, but the will of the agent prevailed.

The surgery will be more complex than initially expected because there is a microfracture and lesion of the knee cartilage that will require a stop of at least 7-8 months. The intervention should be performed during the next week and Bonaventura will be available for next season's pre-season. The club will, therefore, have to intervene in the winter transfer market and sign a midfielder to replace Jack.
