AC Milan, Caros Bacca aims to end goal drought against Sampdoria

Bacca Milan disperato

Even if everyone keeps talking about Mario Balotelli’s last chance at AC Milan, the Italian striker is not the only one who has to prove something to the Rossoneri new manager Cristian Brocchi.

Scorer of just one goal in the last seven league games (three in the last  two months against Palermo, Genoa and Lazio), the Diavoli leading scorer is living his worst period since joining the San Siro outfit last summer.

AC Milan’s disappointing results in the last five games cost Sinisa Mihajlovic his job. The Rossoneri managed only three goals in that time, failing to score against Sassuolo and Chievo.

No doubt M’Baye Niang’s injury has influenced AC Milan’s attacking force. The former Genoa front-man’s pace and unpredictability in the opponents’ final third was a key factor for the Rossoneri attack and Carlos Bacca seems to be the one who has suffered Niang’s absence the most.

The Combian ace, who will turn 30 in September, did not forget how to score. The former Sevilla FC star netted three goals in Colombia’s last two World Cup qualifying ties. However, it is worth mentioning that Juan Cuadrado and James Rodriguez can get Bacca more service than his teammates at AC Milan. Cristian Brocchi hopes to solve his striker’s recent goal drought swapping AC Milan to a 4-3-1-2 system with Bonaventura playing as offensive midfielder behind Bacca and Mario Balotelli.
