AC Milan still in race to sign Croatian playmaker as Fiorentina reject Inter’s offer

AC Milan are still in race to sign Croatian playmaker Milan Badelj as Fiorentina have rejected Inter’s offer to sign their midfield star in January, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The nerazzurri can spend no money to sign any transfer target in January and have offered Fiorentina a player-swap deal involving their unhappy striker Stevan Jovetic who has already played for Fiorentina during his career.

La Viola, however, are only open to sell Badelj for a cash offer and are not going to accept the Montenegro International in return for the former Hamburger SV man.
AC Milan, in turn, have been given new hope, but the rossoneri are also short of cash for the incoming transfer window after that the Chinese consortium have postponed the closing date to acquire a majority share in the club.

The Serie A giants are planning to sell three players to free up cash to sign new recruits in January.

Badelj’s Fiorentina contract runs until 2018 and the player is not going to sign a contract extension with the club.
