Agent of Chelsea target: 'Napoli wanted him but Juventus rejected them'

The agent of Juventus defender and Chelsea target Daniele Rugani has revealed that Napoli did make an attempt to sign him this past summer, but Juve pegged the offers back.

Rugani had been subject of interest from Chelsea too in the summer, but he ended up staying at the club. This happened after Juve had sold Mattia Caldara to AC Milan, along with loaning Gonzalo Higuain too in an attempt to sign Leonardo Bonucci back from Milan.

Rugani's agent Davide Torchia, has confirmed that apart from Chelsea, Napoli too had tried signing his client this past summer.

He told Radio Marte: “Napoli did request Rugani and they were very courteous about it. This was pleasing, but Juve never wanted to start any negotiations."

He also said: “Juve constructed a huge squad of quality and quantity. Max Allegri brought his ideas in slowly, so now when Juve have the ball, they act like a three-man defence and the wing-backs push up."
