Argentina, Bauza; "Icardi? He's getting closer to selection"

Icardi Inter sorride
09 November at 14:43
The adventure of Inter striker Mauro Icardi in an Argentinean national team jersey consists of just seven minutes against Uruguay in 2013. Since then, the 23-year-old from Rosario has not set foot on the field of play and you can count the number of times he has been selected on one hand.
All is not lost however, speaking ahead of the crunch World Cup qualifier against Brazil on Thursday, Head Coach Edgardo Bauza has given the striker hope by explaining that; “He is able to do good things with this squad. Obviously he’s not been selected for this round of matches but his inclusion is getting closer”.
Icardi has been the one real success story on the field for Inter this season and heads the goal scoring charts alongside Roma’s Edin Dzeko. Revelations in his recent autobiography have alienated him from some of the club’s hard core supporters but his continued omission from his country’s national team has left many observers scratching their heads.
