Arsenal warned as Inter president confirms interest in Ozil

Inter president Erik Thohir has confirmed that the nerazzurri are interested in signing Mesut Ozil in the January window. The contract of the Germany star expires in 2018 and Ozil has already been offered to the nerazzurri by intermediaries, calciomercato.com exclusively reported yesterday.

If Ozil fails to sign a contract extension by the beginning of July he can join any other club as a free agent from next summer.

Talking to Metrotv.news.com, Thohir confirmed that Ozil is a player Inter are looking at for the winter transfer window.

“He [Ozil] is definitely one of those players we are looking at but the last January signings of Podolski and Shaqiri proves winter signings can be fail to live up to expectations.”

“We have many new players already, we have tried to build the best possible team with the resources we had”, Thohir replied when asked to compare the summer transfer strategies of Inter and AC Milan. “Each club chose the best possible strategy, AC Milan made different choices.”
