Atletico Madrid and Man Utd on alert as Marotta prepares free transfers for Inter

The winter market hasn’t started yet but Inter are already thinking about the next summer.

The new CEO Beppe Marotta and the sports director Piero Ausilio are evaluating different players with international experience and with their contracts expiring at the end of June.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the hottest names in the Nerazzurri shortlist are Filipe Luis and  Diego Godin from Atletico Madrid and Ashley Young of Manchester United.

COLCHONEROS - "In June, Inter must add to his starting XI expensive players in order to improve. This is also the target of the board, we know that the quality level of the group must increase, this will be our goal". Marotta did not hide the ambitions of Nerazzurri and confirmed that the Serie A giants are ready to set up a competitive team. Among the names close to Inter there is always Diego Godin: the Uruguayan defender has refused various proposals for renewal of his deal with Atletico Madrid and he could replace Joao Miranda, close to his farewell to Serie A.

Marotta and Ausilio also keep an eye on the situation of another Colchonero, the left-back Filipe Luis: his contract expires in June and despite his Brazilian passport he is not considered as a non-EU player. With Dalbert out of Spalletti’s plans, he could be the perfect reinforcement for the defensive side of Inter.

JOLLY - The other name followed by Beppe Marotta is Ashley Young. The 33-years-old winger has not renewed yet with Manchester United, despite the will of Red Devils to keep him. He could be a perfect jolly for Luciano Spalletti: Young can, in fact, play both on the offensive side and on the defensive one. According to the Sun, the Nerazzurri have already proposed a two years deal with the player and they are waiting for a response.
