    AC Milan have communicated that Mario Balotelli has undergone surgery in Munich. The former Manchester City, Liverpool and Inter striker began life in Serie A well this season, before succumbing to a sports hernia that has kept him out since late September.

    The operation (carried out of Ulrike Muschaweck) has technically been a success, and his recovery time is expected to be four weeks, at least without further complications.

    Balotelli hopes to end his sports hernia problems once and for all, as they have kept him out since Milan's 1-0 defeat to Genoa.
